Webster Word

A Note from Your Moderator

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! Can you believe how fast 2006 went by?

This will be my final Webster Word as the Church’s moderator; on January 19 we will pass the baton on to a new Official Board and moderator. It has been an exciting two and half years since I assumed the position of moderator. I look at how healthy our church is today and how happy we are as a congregation and a church family. I look at how the church has grown and seeing the smiling faces of all our children is like a tonic every Sunday.

In 2006 we welcomed 17 new members to Webster Church; how exciting this is. Seeing new and young families coming into the church is very rewarding to all of us. I pray that these new members of our church family will find it in their heart to take an active role in the operation of the church. Your assistance and active participation in the church is necessary for our success in the future, so please give this a lot of thought and see how you can be of help!

I want to take the time to thank every member of the Official Board for your dedication to the success of our church; many of you have served for two years or more in your positions. None of what we have accomplished as a church could have been done without your support! For those of you that are staying on the Board, please share your knowledge with the new members coming aboard. Let’s not assume that the people coming on board will know how the church operates. I want to assure all the new members of the Board that I will always be there to advise you in any way I can.

In closing I want to thank Pastor Lonna for all of her hard work in dealing with the spiritual needs of our congregation. And last but not least, I want to thank Levin Heath for his advice and guidance, and for stepping in whenever we needed help or direction, and for his support in all the things we have accomplished.
