Webster Word
A Note From Your Moderator
Webster Church is a place that has been a comfort since I was a child. I recall struggling into uncomfortable Sunday attire to attend Sunday school in the basement. Susan and I were married by Rev. Dale Krotee and our son Ethan was baptized by Pastor Lonna. I am 36 years old and Webster Church has been my foundation all of those years.
As we embark on the new year, I am excited about Webster Church’s future and proud of its past. The Board and I follow in a long line of kind and caring leaders. And we will ensure that Webster Church grows in spreading His word.
Tradition is very important. You may have noticed change throughout the appearance of the church as well as our Services. Change is good and inevitable, but tradition builds a sense of belonging. The key is in balancing the two. We will do our best to find this balance.
Our Board and Committee members are trusted servants of the church. They are your best source to input your suggestions. If you have suggestions or recommendations, please use them.
We experienced a banner year in growth of our church. Our Outreach to the community was successful in expanding our message. We will continue our charge. In addition to our Pastor’s relentless pursuit, one of our most successful Outreach efforts last year was through our friends and family. Invite those close to you. Tell them that we are a community-based church that is open to all. Tell them why you like this church. Extend a hand.
In the past 4 years, and perhaps more, our members have contributed countless hours throughout the year in ongoing fundraising activities. This year I would like to see fewer fundraising activities while maintaining our financial goals. We can accomplish this goal by hosting fewer events that may require more participation. We have four events that constitute the bulk of our fundraising efforts: the yard sale, the peach festival, the annual dinner, and the fall festival. Please volunteer for these events. I guarantee that you will leave feeling a greater sense of community.
We have an experienced and loving pastor that will see to your spiritual needs in the utmost confidence. I am available to you. If you have any concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
