Can you believe it's almost Christmas?! We will start the Advent season by reflecting on what we learned during our Fall term.

  • The Hebrew people believed in God. They had a strong faith, even though they were slaves.
  • Moses was a special baby. He was rescued from the river by an Egyptian princess and raised to be a strong man.
  • God spoke to Moses through a burning bush and told him to help free the Hebrews from slavery.
  • Moses spoke to Pharaoh, but Pharaoh would not free the slaves. After 10 plagues showed the power of God to the Egyptians, Pharaoh sent the Hebrews away.
  • The Egyptians tried to capture the slaves, but they escaped through the Red Sea. God parted the waters for them to walk to freedom.
  • God provided for His people while they wandered in the wilderness. 'li' Moses spoke to God again and was given the 10 Commandments.
  • Moses' brother Aaron reminded the people that there was only 1 God and we are not to worship anything or anyone but God.
  • We learned about Spies in Canaan, Crossing the River Jordan, The Battle of Jericho.
  • We thanked God for our blessings just as they did after their long journey.

In our next term we will have lessons from the New Testament. We will start by learning about Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Our Christmas Program will be held on Christmas Eve during the morning service. We will celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent, perform for our families and the congregation, and have a Birthday Party for Jesus afterwards in the Social Hall. Our program is called "A Mouse's Tale" and we will start practicing this week during Sunday School.
