Adopted Families

Thank you for your generosity in providing food and money for the family we "adopted" for Thanksgiving this year.  As you may recall, this family has four children:  Mariah (age 12), Isaiah (age 8), Asia (age 6), and Amyah (age 5).  We were able to provide food for a complete Thanksgiving meal, additional food for the family, and small gifts for the children.  We also raised $75 for a gift card to a grocery store.  This was an amazing effort in less than two weeks, and we understand that the family really appreciated it!

In addition to the family that we supported for Thanksgiving, we will be "adopting" two families from Havre de Grace Elementary School's Joy Project for Christmas.  One of these families has a mother and one child, Addie (age 9).  The other family has a mom, dad, and one child, Juan Carlos (age 10).

There are several ways that you can help us to make Christmas special for these families.  For example, you may donate food.  You may provide gifts for the children.  (As in past years, we will post tags with the children's "wishes" for Christmas presents near the narthex.  Simply take the tag(s) for the item(s) you would like to provide.)  Or you may make a monetary donation that Christian Ed will use to purchase presents, food, and/or gift cards to a grocery store.  Food and presents may be deposited in the Sunday School area.  If you provide a present, please place your tag or a note on the outside of the package indicating the recipient of the gift and the contents.  This will assist Christian Ed in ensuring proper distribution of gifts.
