- Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all those celebrating in September.
- Amelia with a 4.0 has made the President’s List again at Strayer University for the Spring Semester. Previously, she made the Winter Semester List. Strayer held a special reception on July 11 th for all their exceptional honor students.
- To all our other students, congratulations on passing in elementary, middle and high schools.
- Teresa had surgery on her eyes. She now sees without glasses. Wonder if she has x-ray vision.
- PFC Roman Corpuz (Amelia’s husband) has orders for his new schooling after graduation (was 26 th of July). He is being sent to Kessler Air Force Base at Biloxi, Mississippi. This school should conclude in mid-December. The newly weds will probably spend their first anniversary apart. There is a glimmer though, after his schooling, he could get assigned to the NAS base in Willow Grove, PA. We will pray that he does.
- Met JoAnn Hayes in church on July 29 th and learned that she belongs to a mission team that is headed to Gulf Port, Mississippi. They are continuing their help for the Katrina victims. And to all of us 60+ - - - do you remember the Buddy Dean Shows years ago that featured various singers and teenage dancers coming out of Baltimore on TV? Well, she was a frequent guest. That’s when neatness counted for public attire.
- Continued prayers for Bessie’s grandson who is headed for Iraq. Let’s pray for all our men and women connected to this church and nationwide for their valiant efforts. And lest not forget those who went and came back and need medical care whether physical or mental. And to those who did not, pray for their families. Our family suffered a loss during WWII, and from what I have learned from my mother, no mother should ever bury a child. She lost a brother, my grandmother lost a son.
- Heard grumblings among church members on their property taxes. Go to www.md.assessment and taxation. If not happy, check it out. You can be reduced!
- Had fun at a certain birthday party at the Ltttle’s. Lily was the center of attention. She passed out on the way home. Her daddy, Roman, maybe able to ‘steal’ two or three days from Biloxi, MS in September. That’s all that Marine has from school. He will make Lance Corporal September 1st.
- All that peach pie in August means start your diet in September. Walk - - - don’t run. It will take longer, but less stress on body parts.
- Gwen Stolzenbach and Ann & Larry Guess visited with Carol and Irv Chidsey at their new home in Oak Crest Village on August 15 th. Carol and Irv seem very happy in their new environment and have found a lot of interesting outlets: Carol has joined a Bell Choir and Irv is taking a History class.
- Erin Merryman is making steady progress with the healing of her broken right leg. On her own, she wheeled herself to the barn and got on the back of her horse - - - to the shock of her mother. Erin just had to prove to herself that her riding days are not over. Hopefully she will now be more patient and wait for the leg to fully heal.
- Frances Craig of Level passed away on Friday August 27, 2007.
