Pastor’s Message
Dear Webster Family,
As we finish up our summer schedule, I am so pleased to look back at our worship services and see how many folks faithfully attended church during July and August. One Sunday, when there were 26 children in church and 80 adults in the pews, and it was right in the middle of summer. Praise God!
When we celebrated our August birthdays, we put our pennies in our new Church bank, and we all sang to the congregation. Our Mt. Zion Men’s Choir provided a wonderful revival where most of us were on our feet, clapping our hands, and singing along. We all enjoyed and shared the music! This summer’s music was an inspiration for all of us, with so much variety and tremendous talent! Thank you, Music Committee, for a successful summer filled with gifted musicians.
One of our members stood up in church this past Sunday and said, “What a church!” He appreciated the prayers, visits, meals, and even the children coming to sing to him in the hospital! It is surely a blessing to be cared for and encouraged by such a loving congregation in our times of need.
We are looking forward to Rally Day, when the children’s fall classes begin. We will provide more music with our lessons and crafts and we invite the children to come and join the Christian Ed program as our young ones learn more about Christ and his teachings. We have Sunday school teachers who are experienced and strongly motivated to bring the best of Christian education to children of all ages.
I hope you will be able to join us for our annual dinner on September 29 th. Our chefs are gathering up supplies, the tickets are ready, and we hope this dinner will be the best one yet. Our church family enjoys getting together for fellowship, and the blessings multiply again and again in the spirit of spreading the Gospel throughout the community.
May you all enjoy happy and healthy days ahead, as you return to school and work, and may the Lord bless you in abundance as we continue our journey of faith together.
The Peace of the Lord be with You,
Pastor Lonna
