Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all those celebrating September.

Notice the August 31 st edition of the Record? Miss Lindsey Cohen’s picture was on Page 11A. This was her first day of school, as may others. Now that you are famous Miss Lindsey, can we get your autograph?

The Templin/Reese reunion was a success! About 25 attended. We had an auction led by Joe which brought over $100, guess what’s in the jar game with fabulous prizes, “hillbilly horse shoes” made young and not so young able to play, a potato launcher - - that excited even my 85 year old mother, and karaoke - - “Simon” said I was not going to Hollywood, corn-on-he-cob, salads, cakes, crab dip, crab soup - - homemade, and my sister’s “sex-in-a-pan” (no kidding) dessert. Lily had so much fun being passed around, especially to the relatives from Ohio. Amelia finally got her asleep that night around 11 pm. There was a pool, regular horse shoes and a giant swing to round out the day.

The following Saturday brought the Hughes/Gallion family reunion held at Webster. There were guessing games, outside activities for the children, silent auction and good food. Walter Cooley talked about his research and book. Lily and Amelia missed this one, but did have a visit from Roman’s grandmother (the grandfather was sick) from Ohio at her mother-in-law’s house.. Peggy Jenkins thought Lily was the most beautiful baby she has ever seen - - but we all knew that. A ton of pictures were taken so the grandfather could see her.

This Roving Reporter missed a step on the 15 th of this month and ended up bouncing down three basement steps. Can’t show you where the bruises are. Unfortunately, the 30+ pounds I lost made those uncarpeted steps feel very hard.

To all animal lovers who have experienced the loss of a pet. Talked with my oldest daughter Kathy and the bet gave them the bad news about their German shepherd. He has degenerative myopathy and will be put down within a year - - if he is lucky. The dog is only seven years old. Pastor Lonna, Velma and Amelia have lost pets and know the sadness that follows with losing a friend. But don’t we always go out and buy another?

Robert G. Smith pulled through his triple heart by-pass and is on the road to recovery. He will be celebrating his 79 th birthday next month.

The 21 st was a welcome day for Amelia and Lily. And I made sure there was a plate full of chocolate chewy brownies. Joe made sure there was a large pot of meatballs. Later that evening, Frank and his family came over and wiped out any leftovers. Roman arrived around 1:30pm. Unfortunately, he had to leave Sunday morning around 7am.

As all of you have found out, I am recuperating from a broken foot. I stepped in a hole at the bus stop Thursday morning and was in a temporary cast that evening. I am now sporting a hot-pink cast almost up to my knee and am having a trying time with crutches and a walker.

Visited a church for a turkey dinner on the 15 th. Delicious meal served by a gracious congregation even though the dinner ended around 5:30p, and it was 6:30pm. They called themselves Community of Christ located in Gatchelville, Pa. Their “ministers” are referred to as a “high priest,” they bless infants but don’t baptize until an individual accepts Christ - - which can be as young as eight through immersion, and retain several individuals as various “ministers” with different responsibilities. This Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (04-07-2000) only number around 35. Their Temple (headquarters) is in Independence, Missouri. Listening to the eager “pitch” upon their beliefs makes me glad I belong to Webster UCC.

Get-Well wishes go out to Teresa Ashby. Heard she is under the weather. She always is the one that sends out cards. Now its time for her to receive some. Her address is in the Directory.

Keep our recent departures in our prayers, as they find new beginnings to wherever they move.

Andrew celebrated a birthday on the 22 nd. You can send him birthday cards in care of his grandfather Nolan, whose address is in the Directory.

Before I end this Report, I want to say thanks to Kelly for stepping up to cover my Outreach. With Woody as secretary, she can get away with telling him what to do. I feel confident my committee is in good hand until I return.

Anyone that has news, please call me at (410) 734-7538. I can still sit, write and get Joe to mail my notes to Larry. I really can get used to this care.
