OFFICIAL BOARD MEETING REVIEW

September 10, 2007

 

Ten members present plus one guest.

Significant thoughts and motions ---

Previous meeting minutes read and approved.

Discussed procedures and responsibilities for the church if it takes Woody Hower as a student in care while in seminary.

Revenue for the summer held up well.

Approved use of some money from the Doris Babec Memorial to purchase a pastoral candle stand and candle.

Approved the Treasurer's report for summer months.

A fireside chat with new and prospective members will be held at the Lyttle home on Oct. 17.

Boy Scout Court of Honor will be held in the sanctuary on Oct. 24.

Peach Festival was a huge success.

A new convection oven will be purchased by money donated for that purpose.

The church has changed insurance company due to a lower rate.

A written job description has been developed for the secretary position including an annual evaluation. New secretary will work 10 hours a week and report to the Official Bd.

A motion was made and passed to hire Nickey Brand for this position.

The Youth Group will be attending the annual youth religious conference in Ocean City in November. The youth have raised $878 to help with expenses for this event.

It was moved and passed that the youth group budget for this year be raised from $200 to $1000.

Sunday School will consist of 3 classes this year.

The Sunday School Halloween Party will be on Oct. 20 and a brief Christmas program will be held on Dec. 16.

Plumbing in the Ladies Restroom will be repaired. The trash collector will now be Harford Sanitation Co.

The Health Dept. gave us a better rating than last year after annual inspection. The church membership rolls are being reviewed by the Diaconate.

Plans for the Nov. 3 Bazaar are being finalized and it will again include crafters. Signs are now being prepared. The Bd. approved some funds for the signs.

Apple and Pumpkin pies will be featured on the bake table at the Bazaar.

The church record books are being reviewed and updated.
