Christian Education Update

Thanks to everyone who supported the Heifer International project. By collecting LOTS of coins (in addition to bills and checks), we accumulated $354! The Sunday School children selected the following animals to purchase with these funds:

• a water buffalo
• honeybees
• flocks of chicks, ducks, and geese

This was a wonderful mission that will support people around the world in improving their lives.

I am so proud of our children! They have been learning so much in Sunday School, as they demonstrated on Easter Sunday. As we were practicing the song “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus” to sing to the congregation on Easter Sunday, the children asked if they could also tell the congregation some of what they had learned during Sunday School. As a result, they explained what happened on Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. The words they used were completely their own. They then passed out to the congregation butterflies that they had made during Sunday School, explaining that the butterfly coming out of its cocoon is like Jesus' resurrection.

We are blessed to have such a fabulous and caring group of children at Webster Church!
