Webster Word
Message from the Moderator
During this Lenten Season we are all called upon to reflect on our faith in the Christian beliefs of death and rebirth and how the Easter Season leads to the cross and hope for a more spiritual and meaningful life. Our earthly thoughts are to the ordinary joys of early crocus, the returning flocks of robins and celebrations at Webster Congregational Church for an Easter Breakfast and joyous service. I know I look forward to seeing all of you each and every Sunday and would love to see our pews full amid the fragrance of the lilies at the altar.
We have many plans afoot in the church year that reflect our hopes and aspirations for a growing congregation that will thrive in all the work to be done. The Open and Affirmative Committee will soon begin its work, under the leadership of Gary Lyttle. Our Christian Education department is growing and undertaking much to develop a group of children and youth who will learn how to love and act as a Christian in a conflicted world. The Outreach Committee is seriously focused on bringing new members to our congregation and it almost looks like a real door-to-door campaign! We’ll probably cross paths with some of those folks working for Presidential Candidates. But we know this is the only truly effective way to find friends and neighbors who may not have a church of their own. And we at Webster know how to give a truly warm welcome to our visitors, don’t we?
So come join us in any of these planned efforts so we can show our true spirit of sharing and caring. Remember our message that “All are welcome, wherever you are on the journey of life.”
