A beautiful lady who was perfectly attired, shared hugs and kisses, and was always looking for "the man" will be lovingly missed. Good going, Ruth. You found "THE MAN." Blessed are those who believe. She did.

Well wishes to all those who were ill during the holidays and still fighting those nasty viruses. Lily was one that was sick for her first Christmas. Prayers for those facing unknown futures. Remember, Jesus walks beside you every step of the way.

Congratulations to Roman (Amelia's husband). He graduated top of his class down there in Biloxi with a score of 99.4 and became their valedictorian.

As you saw, I am doing better and just a few inches away from driving. Good to see Doris in church. Loved seeing everyone in their decorative colors.

Prayers to my neighbor Angie who fell in the bathroom and broke her pelvis. Don't know details.

Good going students. Congratulations to our honor roll recipients in elementary, middle and high schools. And to our college students who are headed for their degrees. Amelia made straight A's,

A note for next year: In an article (The Cecil Whig dated l2/l2/07) titled "Holiday Mail to ‘Any Soldier’ Will Be Thrown Out," it was stated that all Christmas cards addressed that way will be literally thrown out because the Post Office does not have the manpower to open and scan all mail (for anthrax, hate, or other bad things), thanks to 911. This was a rule put into practice after the attacks in 2001. Anyone putting their return address on the envelope will get this mail back. Unless there is a name on the envelope, this mail will be tossed. The Privacy Act keeps us from knowing who is there, unless we actually know the soldier.

Newsflash (The Cecil Whig, 11/18/07): The American Red Cross is collecting, reviewing and delivering holiday greeting cards to recovering soldiers at military hospitals who aren't specifically named on the envelope. They are unhappy about that 2001 Post Office policy. All greeting cards should be sent to:

Don't forget Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter. Those patients deserve mail for any holiday.
