Deacon's Desk

At the Annual Meeting the church members approved the deaconate for 2008; the members are Gary Lyttle Chairman, Woody Hower, Kelly Hower, Pat Mengel, Joyce Reynolds and Linda Placzankis.

We had our first meeting as a new body on Jan. 30 at the parsonage. There are many issues that the deaconate will address this year and I feel very strongly that we have a group of people that will not shy away from the tough issues. I encourage all members of the congregation to feel free to approach any member of the deaconate with any of your concerns about our services or the spiritual needs of our church.

We will be making some changes in the way the deaconate will do things and we will make sure the congregation is made aware of these before we initiate them. We plan to work very closely with our pastor and try to make her job a little easier as we move forward. I look forward to a joyful and spiritual year for Webster church in 2008.
