Christian Ed Update
We are looking forward to the Preparation of the Greens and Family Night on Friday, December 7, 2007. At 6:00 p.m., we will join together in the Social Hall for a pot luck dinner. After the dinner, the adults will prepare the decorations for the sanctuary, which will be hung during the Church Service on December 9 th. The children will make ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree during the December 9 th service. We will also have hot chocolate and movies for the children to watch on Friday night. It should be a fun evening of fellowship for all ages.
The Sunday School children and Youth will present The Christmas Story during the Children’s Time portion of the Church service on December 16 th. It will be a special time during which the children will tell the Christmas story and lead the congregation in several Christmas hymns.
Webster Church and Boy Scout Troup 965 are jointly sponsoring two families this Christmas season. As you may recall, earlier this year we helped out a family whose house was devastated by fire. Many from our congregation donated food and household items to the family, and we also provided them with food for a Thanksgiving dinner. We will also be accepting donations of food and gifts for this family for Christmas. The family consists of two parents, a 15 year old daughter, a 10 year old daughter, and a 9 year old son. We are also sponsoring a family from Havre de Grace Elementary School, which consists of two parents, a 15 year old daughter, and 8 year old twin sons. We invite you to provide gifts from their wish lists, food, and/or money to be used toward a grocery store gift card or presents. As usual, we will post the gifts from the wish list in the church. If you are interested in providing a gift, please wrap the gift and put a tag on the wrapped gift indicating who it is for and what is in the package so we can take inventory of what we have before purchasing additional items from donated funds. Donations may be left in the Sunday School area or given to Susan Cohen or Heidi Pensell.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
