Webster Word
Pastor’s Message
Dear Webster Family,
I have been enjoying the early blooms popping up in the yard, hearing the birds sing (even in the sanctuary on Easter Morning!) and I am so happy to welcome the longer and warmer days of spring! Many new visitors have come to worship with us and we hope they will continue to enjoy our services as well as join us for our many opportunities of fellowship. We have some very special events coming up in April that we look forward to. We will welcome new members on April 13. If you have been thinking about becoming a full member, we encourage you to make your decision and come on board! The church mice and the homemade chocolates are being made just for you!
We will have a Praise Service on April 20th, featuring our multi-talented Praise Team. Both young people and our seniors enjoy the uplifting and inspirational music our team provides for us.
We will welcome three little children in baptism into the Body of Christ on May 4th. We will enjoy the Mother’s Day banquet on May 10th, and the Mother’s Day worship service on May 11th. On May 18th, Rev. Jim Bell and I will have a pulpit exchange, where Rev. Jim will speak from our pulpit and I will journey down to his congregation and lead worship that day. I will be at Christ Church in Baltimore, where Rev. Jim is the newly installed pastor. We continue to enjoy our Bible study after services in the Sunday school room, where Susan Cohen leads us through the Bible in 180 days. We have learned so much about the people of the Old Testament, and we have learned so much about each other as we journey together through the theological and social culture of the Hebrew people in the days before Christ came to fulfill the law. We still have room for you if you would like to join us.
I also look forward to my trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota from May 19-23 as I take a study leave for a preaching conference, called “The Festival of Homiletics.” At the end of the month, we celebrate Memorial Day and prepare for a “Spirit” filled summer with our family here at Webster.
We hope you will continue to enjoy our warm and welcoming fellowship as we seek to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!
May God the Father bless you; God the Son heal you; and God’s holy and undivided Trinity guard your bodies and save your souls, and bring you safely into his sanctuary where He offers his presence now and forever.
In Him,
Pastor Lonna
