A Note from the Deacons

The Deaconate will meet on April 16, 2008; unfortunately our March meeting was cancelled due to bad weather. As some of our members may have noticed that we no longer have the “Prayer Person on Call” in the Sunday Bulletin. This chore has been taken over by the deaconate and the Deacon’s On Call should be notified if someone is in need of prayer. The April meeting will have the deacons addressing issues concerning Communion, membership, church hours of worship, and other issues. If you have concerns or comments for the deacons please call me at home or e-mail me at glyttle@comcast.net.

We had a very special and spiritual Lenten season at Webster this year and Lent ended with a very beautiful Holy Week. The Maundy Thursday service was attended by 22 of our members and a wonderful meal of dried fruit, cheese, fresh fruit, bread, and condiments. The washing of hands and the blessing with oil was very spiritual and emotional for everyone who attended. Beautiful music was provided by Casey Anno and Auggie Somers. I want to thank Pastor Lonna and all the deacons for preparing this wonderful service. Unfortunately the Good Friday service was not well attended and most of the congregation missed out on another beautiful and spiritual service. I think that next year we may need to rethink this service and decide if we should have it at all.

Easter Sunday was a glorious day filled with wonder music and a grand Easter service we had close to 100 in attendance and several visitors to our church enjoyed a truly joyous service. Easter morning we had a delicious breakfast of Pancakes and Sausage and everyone that came really enjoyed themselves.
