Pastor’s Message

Dear Webster Family,

Here we are beginning Holy Week, and we have many opportunities to gather together for services of worship and fellowship.  This is the busiest time of the Christian year, where we can remember our Lord's sacrifice for us, and be witness to his Resurrection.

We have so many reasons to be thankful this season, as we are growing in membership and in our commitment to our Lord and to each other.  The confirmation class continues to meet each Sunday from 4-6pm, and our confirmands have continued to have perfect attendance to all classes.  Last Sunday, March 25, after class, we enjoyed dinner together, and we journeyed over to Wesleyan Chapel for the praise service.  Our confirmands were surely surprised when Pastor Tim asked them to come forward to answer some questions about their studies.  They did a tremendous job, and we were so proud of them.  After that, our confirmands knelt at the rail and the entire congregation placed their hands on them and prayed over them, and then everyone celebrated Holy Communion together.  We didn't know that we were in for such a special service of worship.  Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly, and we plan to return for worship and fellowship again with our friends at Wesleyan Chapel. The music and the worship service were memorable for sure!

I hope you will join us in our services of worship here at Webster during Holy Week.  We will gather on Maundy Thursday at 6:00pm in the social hall for worship, Holy Communion and the Blessing of Hands.  On Good Friday, we will have a service of Tenebrae, with scripture readings and special music.  On Easter Sunday, everyone is invited to breakfast at 9:00am, and then we will have a grand Easter celebration at 11:00am.  We hope to fill the church at this service, so please come and enjoy the Resurrection of our Lord with our Webster family on this special day!

On April 15th, the youth from the Harford Jewish Center will join us for worship, in preparation for their confirmation, as they learn about our Christian faith.   Jenny Sirkis and Kathy Winer have invited our confirmands and their families, as well as any members and friends of Webster Church to their service of confirmation on Friday, May 18th at 7:30pm. The members of our confirmation class and their families plan to attend as part of their learning experience.  We look forward to joining our neighbors as they celebrate their faith journey in the Jewish tradition, and we have the opportunity to learn more about our Judeo-Christian heritage

On April 29th, we will celebrate Confirmation Sunday, and we will receive our confirmands into membership.  After the service, we are invited to the barn at 3514 Old Level Road for a wonderful meal and fellowship.  All are invited to the table on that day!  Please let us know if you will be able to attend, as the Hower family is planning a feast for everyone. If you would like to bring something, you are invited to bring a dessert to share.
